M7 Accident Today – Major Delays Reported Following Serious Crash on Highway

Emergency services responded to multiple incidents on the M7 on Monday as authorities dealt with collisions that caused significant traffic disruptions and lengthy delays for motorists traveling through affected areas.

According to traffic updates and local reports, one of the latest incidents occurred on the eastbound section of the M7 between Junctions 22 and 23, where a collision forced temporary road closures and diversions. Motorists were advised to avoid the area while emergency crews worked at the scene and traffic officials redirected vehicles through alternative routes.

Elsewhere, several recent crashes along different stretches of the M7 have highlighted ongoing road safety concerns on the busy route. In Durban, emergency personnel responded to multiple serious truck and vehicle collisions over recent weeks, including a crash near the N2 interchange that caused major traffic congestion and left several people injured. Reports indicated emergency responders had to free trapped occupants while managing hazardous fuel and cargo spills.

Authorities also confirmed that another deadly crash on the M7 in Durban claimed the life of a motorist after two trucks collided before the Bellville off-ramp. One person was killed and another injured in the incident, according to emergency responders.

Traffic monitoring services stated that emergency crews, including paramedics, firefighters, and police officers, have remained active across various M7 incidents as investigations continue into the causes of the collisions. Drivers traveling through affected sections have faced extended delays, with some roads partially closed for hours while wreckage was cleared and crash scenes examined.

Witnesses described scenes of heavy congestion as traffic backed up for several kilometers during peak travel periods. Authorities urged motorists to remain patient, reduce speed approaching accident zones, and follow directions issued by emergency services and traffic officers.

Road safety officials continue reminding drivers about the dangers of speeding, distracted driving, fatigue, and poor visibility, all of which can contribute to serious motorway accidents. Wet road conditions and heavy vehicle traffic have also been identified as common factors in several recent crashes involving trucks on the M7.

At this stage, investigations into the latest incidents remain ongoing, and authorities are expected to release additional information as assessments continue. Motorists planning to travel on the M7 are being encouraged to monitor live traffic updates and allow additional travel time while recovery operations and traffic management measures remain in place.
