According to the Boston Fire Department, crews were dispatched shortly after 8:15 p.m. to a fire at 18 Treadway Road in Dorchester. Officials said the blaze rapidly intensified, eventually escalating to a three-alarm response as firefighters worked aggressively to contain flames spreading through the multi-story structure.
Authorities reported that the fire extended to all three floors of the building before firefighters were able to bring the bulk of the blaze under control approximately twenty minutes later. Crews also worked to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring homes in the densely populated residential area.
During firefighting operations, tragedy struck when a mayday call was issued around 8:50 p.m. after firefighter Robert T.
